Ronald McDonald House of Alberta is one of CIR Realty’s charities.

Over the past 12 months, CIR Realtors in Alberta and Kelowna, BC have donated more than $250,000 to local charities, primarily to their two partner charities, the Ronald MacDonald House of Alberta and the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society. The donations came from CIR Realtors, who donate a portion of their commissions from real estate sales to these charities.

Kirsten Smith, marketing manager of CIR Realty, says the company’s 1forALL program was launched in 2017 in response to Realtor’s requests for an easier way to give back and engage with their community.

“We chose RMH and AARCS because both organizations have a huge focus on the home in many ways. The RMH is creating a home for families who have to travel to be with their sick children who are being cared for in hospitals and the mission of AARCS is to rescue and care for animals until they find a new permanent home for them,” said Smith.

“The economic uncertainty caused by COVID-19 has had a devastating impact not only on many businesses, but also on the non-profit and charitable sectors. Knowing this, we wanted to do our very best to raise as much money as possible this year to ensure that these incredible organizations could continue to do their very important work,” she says.

In four and a half years, the CIR program has raised more than $780,000.

“The culture of community and giving back at CIR is unlike any other we’ve seen,” said Deanna Thompson, CEO of AARCS. “They have partnered with us on our life-saving journey to ensure that our four-legged family members receive the love and care they deserve. We are grateful for their support.”

RMH’s Sara Heibin says the funds donated will continue to support the hundreds of families who travel for essential medical treatment and need accommodation, meals and additional services to focus on treating their child.

“The donations are especially meaningful because we know these donations come directly from the individual agents,” Heibin says.

CIR Realty has more than 730 brokers across 18 offices in Central and Southern Alberta, including their first British Columbia office, located in Kelowna.
