Frasers Property Thailand’s latest project, Silom Edge, will open next year

The Silom and Rama IV Road intersection is currently a hub of activity. Work continues on the impressive Dusit Central Park while Chulalongkorn Hospital undergoes renovations. There have also been activities on a third corner, with Frasers Property Thailand unveiling plans for a mixed-use ‘Sandbox Community’ project on this site.

Silom Edge is a THB 1.8 billion redevelopment of an existing building that will commemorate traditional offices. This is Frasers Property Thailand’s first redevelopment project and the third major commercial center along Rama IV Road.

“We saw a great opportunity to redevelop the property on the excellent corner of Silom road. Located in the heart of Bangkok’s central business district, it is accessible by both BTS and MRT. Silom is undeniably one of Thailand’s premier business districts, home to leading companies. FPT has made a strategic decision to acquire an existing property in the area and convert it into a mixed-use complex”.

He continued: “In line with FPT’s sustainable growth strategy, the project will enhance the portfolio through diversification and recurring revenue generation. Revenue is expected to be accounted for in the last quarter of next year.”

The developer’s concept for Silom Edge is to create a ‘sandbox community in CBD’. The goal is to appeal to digital entrepreneurs and startups through several unique features. These include space & contract as a service, extended hours and cryptocurrency and cashless payments.

According to Frasers Property Thailand, Silom Edge is 65 percent complete and will open next September.

Frasers Property Thailand focuses on Rama IV Road

Silom Edge joins Samyan Mitrtown and The PARQ as key commercial developments Frasers Property Thailand has been working on along Rama IV Road. The latter won the Special Recognition Award for Green Innovation at the Dot Property Thailand Awards 2020.

Frasers Property Thailand has a stake in One Bangkok, the country’s largest integrated district, which is also located along Rama IV Road.
