How to make the magazine work for you
Operations partner of the E to P Group and Regional Director of KW Northern California and Hawaii Caryn Prall values the lead generation power of the personally branded magazine so much that she created her own magazine to set an example for her team and new potential Keller Williams agents.
“Our agents and recruits are constantly looking for ways to differentiate themselves,” she says. “This tool offers them so many options: print, social, web. And the ability to customize them to have their own brand and storyline is a win-win!”
KW agent Jay Cermak of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, believes the magazine is a valuable resource to share with those around him.
“I love how luxurious the magazine feels!” he says. “Great articles, personalized market data I can check, and it would have taken me a lot longer to come up with all the articles myself!” To make it their own, Cermak relies on light customization. “I changed a few colors, added logos and branding, updated all the pages with my info and market information, and spent some time creating something valuable for my customers and branded for my business.”
After tweaking the issue with his personal brand, Cermak hosts the issue on Google Drive and shares a hyperlink to it in emails to its customers. He also had a few copies printed for local customers and shared the link with people who registered with him based on a Facebook ad.
“I was able to get a few buyer leads in my pipeline by promoting the magazine on Facebook ads through Campaigns in Command,” he says. “The magazine also goes into my pre-listing packages and buyer packages when I meet buyers to add even more value to my listing and buyer presentations.”
For maximum benefit, Cermak recommends tying the magazine to your orb in quarterly touches.
“If you combine the magazine with your quarterly phone calls and keep the homeowner informed about their current market value, you become the real economist par excellence,” he says. “Set a base value for their home today, and the next time a magazine comes out and you call to check in with the customer, provide your magazine, ask for feedback, and provide a market update.”
